Safety Journalists

Travel to eight countries where journalists risk their lives to tell the stories others do not want told. Each country will take you through a brutally honest and sometimes absurd security checkpoint. Will you manage to get all eight stamps in your passport?

Would you work as a journalist if you knew it was a dangerous profession? If you knew that you could be threatened, physically attacked or even killed? According to UNESCO, 1360 journalists have been killed worldwide in the past twenty years. Two-thirds of them was killed in countries "at peace".

During this journey you will see that there are other factors than violence that limit press freedom. Sometimes, ambiguous legislation or even a global pandemic is what it takes to tighten the noose.
